Improving Patient Access

Read about our upcoming changes to improve patient access at our practice. Your team aiming to provide better with the resources we have.

We are very pleased to be able to share with you an update of some very positive changes that are coming soon at Ivy Medical Group.

In recent months we have carried out patient surveys and listened to your feedback. We do understand how difficult it is to access healthcare and have looked at how we can make access quicker and fairer than it currently is. Here is what you have told us:

  • Long waits in the telephone call queue
  • When you do get through all the appointments have gone
  • Had to call several days in a row to make an appointment
  • Not always convenient to call in the morning
  • No available appointments without having to wait weeks
  • Have a face to face appointment without having to speak to the doctor first

These are some of your frustrations that you told us about and we appreciate your feedback. The changes we will be introducing later this month are:

  • A patient triage system that will allow you to submit your medical or administrative request to the practice on our website instead of queueing on the phone
  • All requests will be responded to within 48 hours
  • The system can send you a link to directly book a face to face appointment at a time of your choice
  • Majority of our appointments will be face to face but still have the option to have a telephone consultation
  • If patients are unable to submit a form on the website, we will be happy to take your request on the phone
  • A new improved and easy to use website
